Our research hall has 18 computer stations and 21 reading tables for viewing original material. Much of the archive material, including material with no connection to Värmland, is digitized and readily accessible on our computers. Use of the research hall and viewing material, digitized or original, are free of charge. We also have a photo station where visitors can copy original documents.
If you plan to visit the Archive Center and want to be assured of having a computer waiting for your arrival, you should make reservations in advance. If you plan to view original material, most of the heavily used material can be found in the building. However, certain holdings are kept in external storage and must be ordered prior to your visit. You will find our telephone numbers and the route description to the Archive Center if you follow the link to ”Contact and visiting”. Besides the historic original material, we also have a reference library with specialized literature. Search the digital catalog by following the link to ”Our library”.
Near the research hall there is a visitors’ pantry with a refrigerator and a microwave oven for use with your own food and beverage. There is a defibrillator behind the reception desk. The building has an elevator and restrooms adapted for visitors with varying abilities. Lockers with keys are available in the cloakroom outside the pantry. Handicap parking is available outside the entrance and the outer door has an automatic opener, though the door can seem narrow for a wheel chair or permobile. If you contact the reception desk before your arrival, we will assist you. Additional metered parking spaces are in the hospital lot adjacent to the building
